STONE TABLETS
This series has evolved slowly. Over the years, in walking through various landscapes, I have had an instinct to collect rocks that serve to evoke memories of each place. I then search for a geologic "backdrop" that can hold this memory, and prompt a new state of being. Each rock is carefully inlaid into the receiving stone whose surface is subtly altered through a carving and etching process. The intention is to create compositions that retain a primal memory while offering potential narratives that shift with time, light and orientation.
The works are designed to lay horizontally.
