YEAR-LONG WORKS

Beginning in 1995 I developed the concept of making a small piece on a daily basis during the course of one year. The goal was to use mundane, found and scavenged materials to create an object that would, in some way, be a reflection of the day it was made, and result in a journalistic documentation of my life. I also opted to add a short title to each daily element. Since that time, I’ve completed several different year-long pieces, the elements of which have taken both 2D and 3D forms. Only after the year has passed have I determined the final form of the piece that contains all elements.
